mkrobinsonI've managed to calm myself slightly down, no mean feat with the constant deluge of things that aggravate my constantly vague sense of horror and dread, and I've decided to focus on the decent things that have happened recently.
I managed to get in a manicure and a pedicure before they shut down all personal care businesses in my city without bothering to pretend to care about their staff (I've already put in a complaint about how it's blatant that they are not caring about ruining these people's livelihoods while promoting funds for other sectors) and I parted with a decent tip for both techs. My nails are about the only joyful thing around at this time.
I have two weeks of pay for my job and a job to go back to, which so many people don't have. My state is flexible with unemployment and I am capable of receiving it if we don't reopen after those two weeks and they don't want to pay us further.
Today I supported small business and got my little mitts on From Liverpool With Love -- The Beatles Box Set, along with a copy of A Hard Days Night. I need something to do during social isolation, and it is important to support local small business rather than giant conglomerates.
Social distancing is important to ensure that everyone remains somewhat healthy and intact. I do not enjoy the fact that I am forced to be in the house (I have no idea why when you would think this would be a dream come true) but mercifully I have access to ways to get socially connected that do not require in person interaction. I have a giant pile of books to read (well...several. I can put it in one pile but it's deadly), and I have managed to update some stories and post a couple one shots.
I will be spending the duration chipping away at several different problem children...I mean prompt tables. More on that will be in the following entry.
