Dear dam_exchange Writer,

Thank you for agreeing to write for me. Typically I would suggest you peruse the previous fandom exchange letters posted on my journal, but this exchange is the first Disney canon exchange I have participated in. I am on Ao3 as bloodredcherries if you want to check out my work, though since I have never written in Disney prior I am not sure how helpful that would be to you. For all of my prompts  I am more than happy to receive art or fic.

The prompts given are just guidelines. You don't need to write to them.

The following are some general Likes and Dislikes:

The Little Mermaid

• Why did Ursula become, well, Ursula? There had to be a reason she became the Ursula we know and love today. Give her some backstory.
• Vanessa and Ariel are both competing for Eric's attention. What is this like without compulsion and with Ariel having her voice?
• How does Ariel adjust to living in the human world?

Beauty and the Beast

• How did Gaston and LeFou become friends? What happens now that Gaston is dead?
• Adventures of Mrs. Potts and Lumiere during their years as household furniture. Alternatively a piece detailing what their life is like once they are returned to human form.
• Belle and Adam adjusting to being a couple (and both being human).

Aladdin

• Who were some other people that the Genie had to grant wishes to?
• What caused Jafar's fixation on the throne and Jasmine in the first place? Was it solely power or something more sinister?
• What is the story of how Jasmine got Rajah?

Hercules

• What other stories do the Muses have in their wheelhouse? Have they ever met the Fates?
• Hades often seems like a voice of reason in his dealings with others. Is the God of the Underworld misunderstood? 
• What was Megara's life like pre-Hercules?

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

• There is no doubt that Claude Frollo is an evil man. What made him that way? Why did he choose to become a priest? Does he have a hidden human side?
• Clopin is the Narrator of the film. He is shown to have a great deal of knowledge about life in Paris. What stories has he been hiding about our characters?
• Esmeralda is a Romani and Quasimodo is a hunchback, so their friendship is something that makes sense at first. Do they remain friends when she and Phoebus become settled in their relationship? What changes?

Lilo and Stitch

•  How do Cobra Bubbles and the Grand Councilwoman know each other? What have some of their past encounters been?
• How does Lilo and Nani's relationship grow after the events of the movies?
• Stitch is an experiment but he's allowed to stay on earth as Lilo's pet. How does that affect relationships between those on earth and his planet?

Mulan

• I saw a theory that it was Mulan and not Mushu who woke the Great Dragon and the ancestors, and I think that that would be an interesting story to explore.
• What did Mushu get up to in the past that made him the black sheep of the ancestors? A story about his exploits could run the gamut of emotions.
• What happens after Li Shang and Mulan get married? How do they coexist tradition with Mulan's desire to be independent?

The Aristocats

• I am interested in stories about any of the characters nominated. I really enjoyed reading The Aristocats fic that was produced in last year's exchange and it inspired me to request it in this years.
• Perhaps a story that is from the cats' perspective about the goings on and changes in the world that are occurring for the humans during the time period in which the film was set?

Sleeping Beauty

• I am interested in a story exploring the relationship between Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. This can be either gen or shippy, and can either take place prior to their being tasked to care for Aurora or during their guardianship of her, or even after. I think that the three fairies are often overlooked.
• I am interested in a character study of Maleficent. I think she is very intriguing.
• True love's first kiss did wake up Aurora, but how does true love fare over the course of getting to know each other? Tell me about the ins and outs of Prince Phillip and Aurora's relationship.

Cinderella

• How do the stepsisters handle Cinderella's new role as Princess? We have seen how they reacted in canon but I am interested in a more in-depth piece on how Anastasia and Drizella feel in relation to their stepsister being betrothed to the Prince. This can be either canon compliant or divergent.
• Were there times when the stepsisters were actually sisterly to Cinderella? I would be interested in reading a fic that explored such occurrences.
• How does Cinderella adapt to the life of being a Princess? It has to be different than what she was used to in her previous life at Lady Tremaine's. How do she and the Prince get along?
