Post the first sentence (or three) from every WIP you're currently working on, even if it's very short. Then invite people to ask questions about your WIPs. With any luck, the motivation to take that WIP one step closer to completion will appear as if by magic!
Like bookplayer, I too cannot listen. It's a slight problem I have. Some may be over three lines.
1) “Don't tell me how to raise my daughter!”
“I can't tell you how to raise her, but I can tell you that you're a jerk, Todd Wilkins. Look at this place. It's disgusting.”
“We can't all live in nice houses with our loving wives, can we, Wakefield? Why don't you go back to your little woman and make her happy? Isn't Billie being happy all that matters to you?”
2) “I was stupid.” I hadn't meant to say that out loud.
“Kristy, you weren't stupid. Your father made a promise to you, and he broke it.” That was Dawn's dad. He was giving me a ride back from the stadium to his house, where a bunch of my friends and I were staying for one and a half more weeks.
“He always breaks his promises.” I muttered, staring out the car window at the heavy rain.
3) Oh, Richie, they infuriate me. I wish they'd just let me live my life how I want to, with you. Richie, I can't go to California, I can't! I'm not cut out for the warm weather, the beach, the weird hippie health freaks! I want to stay here in Stoneybrook, with you. Forever.
4) Well, I'm Sunny “screw up” Winslow, but I guess you already knew that. My mom died, my dad pretty much abandoned me, and I live with my best friend's family, next door to my old house. Well, I live with Dawn (she's my best friend), her little brother Jeff, her half sister Gracie, her stepmother, Carol, and her father, Jack. Dawn's mother isn't dead, like mine is. She's so lucky. She has two moms.
5) Part of me wishes that I was a little kid again. Life was so simple. We lived in Palo. Sunny and I tortured Jeff. We were all happy.
6) “I thought I’d find you out here,” Richard commented, sitting beside his wife. “You really shouldn’t smoke, you know that, right?”
“I know, Richie. Sorry, I can’t be perfect all the time.”
“No one said you had to be, Shar.” He reached over to rub her back. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” she replied, taking another drag of the cigarette. He knew she was lying, but didn’t want to press her.
7) Thanksgiving morning, Mary Anne had been the one to open the front door and receive the edible arrangement that had been sent by Jack and Carol, and she simply sighed. Had Sunny really become so unmanageable that it was necessary for them to send them a fruit basket? She brought it in and sat it on the kitchen counter, picking the phone off of the base as it began to ring. She didn't want it to disturb Dawn or their parents, all of whom were asleep. Jeff and the triplets had gotten a ride to the football game, and she was the only one up.

Yay basketball! How exciting-I'm going to go see my cousin DJ play basketball in person on Saturday! Yay! I love basketball!
...oh, wait, silly me. DJ's lucky I'm not calling it soccer or football or baseball. I have three days to learn all about basketball!
Right now I'm working on a few various things-I still have a couple fandom_stocking pieces in progress, and I've been bitten by lots of little plot bunnies that seem to have come out of nowhere, yet don't seem to have a lot for me to work with at the moment.
The main prompts I'm currently working on are history, assertive, embarrassed, and gift.
History is going to be about Kristy, and about how Patrick has a, well, history of causing her nothing but disappointment, and this will have a flashback scene from her memories of him, from before he left. This will also be chapter two in my Super Special fanfic. It might take a while for it to come to fruition because I have to track down a copy of Kristy's Book to reread.
Assertive is going to be a Byron/Jeff preslash fic that is in Byron's POV. He finally gets up the nerve to admit to someone (anyone) that he has a crush on Jeff, and he decides that he'll make it a point to tell the first non-Pike person he knows that he runs into, hoping it will be someone sympathetic that can keep a secret, like Charlotte. Unfortunately, Byron runs into one Sharon Spier, who's just finished an open house three houses down from his. Deciding that he promised himself he'd finally admit it to someone (and Mrs. Spier's certainly a bit better than Mr. Spier), he confesses it all to her, and finds she takes it remarkably well. Sharon, of course, thinks that Byron's "forbidden California-surfer blonde that he can never have" is Dawn, not Jeff...
Embarrassed is going to be the next Kristy chapter in the Super Special, and it takes place a bit after the events described in "history". That "father-daughter-stepmother baseball game" that Patrick and Zooey were talking about? Yeah, as usual, Patrick manages to screw it up. Majorly. Kristy is embarrassed because she feels like she should have known better than to trust Patrick, after all of the times he's screwed her over, and she's embarrassed that Jack has to come get her from the stadium because she feels like she was a fool to believe that Patrick had changed.
Gift is a continuation of "Thanksgiving I", and takes place during Dawn and Jeff's two week break in Stoneybrook. This is less fleshed out than the other three, but somehow might get posted first.
