I was wondering what was happening with that, since I remembered hearing about a SVH show in the works and then nothing for ages. I just hope for something better than Sweet Valley Confidential (which I haven't ever had any desire to read; I found out some of the story and thought it had to be someone taking the piss because it sounded so bad.)
The original show was going to be through the CW & I believe fell victim (like everything else) to being proposed/planned when covid hit. So hopefully this one pans out. I did read Sweet Valley Confidential and truly I envy you. Fortunately for our brains, Francine is no longer around to butcher the tv show canon. There was previously a SVH tv show during the 1990s. Let's aim for better than that.
So do I: but at least netflix has adapted series successfully? I mean I am still annoyed that they canceled BSC but that I can consider an AMM issue more than Netflix: just let them go to high school Ann.
I'm holding the BSC against Netflix because we still could've gotten a third season before the dreaded high school dragon reared its ugly head. But apparently it didn't get enough binge watchers and poof. I guess the upside is that I don't see anyone doling out SV episodes like special treats, no matter how good it could be. *muse*
It's also entirely possible to get one perfect season out of Netflix and then get canned, so hope springs eternal. Or else I guess we try and hit a specific number of tries before we get another actual crack at it.
Oh I blame Netflix more too: 1) they should just film back to back seasons when characters are supposed to be a certain age (see: Stranger Things), 2) their idiotic decision to base the viewer goal at the same level as season one...which was released in the height of the pandemic, 3) I wonder if the BSC where they "have" to remain a certain age would be better in an animated format: Ann, call me!
I meant more we know there are different aged spinoffs PLUS I feel like with even SVH I would want to hire "teen" a/k/a adult actors so we wouldn't run into ageing issues.
